Polyurethane Furniture
The market for cushioning materials is dominated by polyurethane flexible foams, although where strong - tough but decorative - integral-skinned flexible or rigid foam structures are needed, polyurethanes are also ideal. They are the most versatile furnishing material. In flexible form they are used in sofas, chairs and mattresses; in rigid form they can be moulded into an infinite variety of shapes and structures, providing a good substitute for wood and metal and enjoying major usage in office and domestic furniture.
Chemical systems supplied in the furniture industry can be used in the following applications:
- One-component moisture glues for the construction of wooden furniture
- Integral skin arm rests for office furniture
- MDI (Diisocyanato Diphenylmethane) block foam starting from densities of 30kg/m³and above
- Replacement of latex in the production of cushions and mattresses
- Visco-elastic foam for the production of pillows and matresses
- Desk edging
- Decorative moldings / simulated wood
